Istoriam windows

Istoriam operates using a number of windows. Most of the windows can run concurrently while passing data from one to the other as needed. In this section we will list the main windows used by the application, with more details provided in the other sections of this manual.

The main windows used in the app are:

  • Display Window. This is the main window of the application where the records are displayed. The Display Window opens automatically when you launch the application.

  • Record Component Window. This is the window used to enter or edit the components of a record. The operations of this window are described in the section “Working with Records”.

  • Filter Management Window. This is the window used to define, manage, select and other functions associated with filters. The operations of this window are described in the section “Working With Filters”.

  • Editor Window. This is the window used for editing records in bulk. The operations of this window are described in the section "Working with the Editor".

  • Table View Window. This window is used to display the filtered records in a table format. The operations of this window are described in the Miscellaneous section.

  • Configuration Panel Window. This is the window used for configuring the parameters of the application or changing the display preferences. The operations of this window are described in the section “Configuration Panel”.

  • Marked Record Window. This window is used to list the records that are Marked and operate on them, i.e., Unmarking the record or navigating to a marked one. See "Marking a Record" for more details.

  • Sandbox Panel Window. This is the window in which authorizing access to directories (usually restricted by Apple Sandbox operation) are entered. Please refer to "Operating with Sandbox" in the Miscellaneous section for more details on how Istoriam operate within the Apple Sandbox restrictions.

There are other smaller windows that are used by the aforementioned windows to enter data and other parameters. Those will be described in their appropriate sections.

Note: The Level Management Window and Tag Management Window (up to release 4) were replace with the Editor (release 5).
